Thursday 17th March 2011 to Wednesday 23rd March 2011
We arrived at Lake Conjola today. Weather was a bit overcast but no rain.......famous last words. In the afternoon it started to rain and didn't stop until late on Monday night. We are camped about 60 metres from the water and we finished up about 15 metres from the water. The entrance to Lake Conjola is closed and as the rain water pours into the lake the level just keeps rising. Ray originally had his boat tied up in the lake, then moved it up to tie it on the car park fence and finally it was in the car park.

Boat in car park
I don't think I have seen such heavy rain in years and I believe it was just as bad at home. Here are some photos of the big wet at Lake Conjola. The council finally came with heavy machinery on Monday and opened the entrance to the lake and the water level dropped which was a relief.

The park ducks had a great time

When the weather finally cleared on Tuesday amd Wednesday, Ray got the boat in the water and caught a few fish. We had fresh bream for tea on Tuesday night and a few to put in the freezer. Not hundreds mind you but enough for a feed. We head home tomorrow and the next blog entry will be when we leave on our BIG trip. Blog you then. |
Shame about the rain but at least Ray caught some fish!!
